Workshops

Sewing machines are used but you don't need the latest 'techno-computerised' model, any machine will do!

Each workshop is a complete class and is suitable for all - from beginners to experienced stitchers. No previous knowledge or experience of fabric manipulation is required. Most students will achieve the selected project to a stage where the final quilting and binding can be finished at home.

Textured Landscapes

Textured Landscapes

Create your own original landscape using hand/microwave dyed fabrics or any other materials. Discover the textural niceties of scrunching tucking, folding, inserting and pleating for a dynamically 3 D unique creation.   

Creative play for all - twiddle and fiddle your way through a wide range of manipulative machinations. No artistic ability required - just have fun - it can’t go wrong but will just be a little different!

Sudoku Squared

Sudoku Squared

Nine unique and innovative designs all created by manipulating squares in ingenious forms. Use these designs for quilt blocks, garments, home décor or where ever you wish. An excellent class for all fabric manipulators or ‘wannabees’ – no experience - just a desire to tweak and twitch a little. (All designs 5” square) Why not take this class with ‘Texture into Sudoku’ and create 18 different ways to magically manipulate material?


There is an option to this class - just make 6 designs - repeat one of these three more times - just as interesting but a little less sewing

Tucked Circle and Fans

Tuck into manipulation with these uniquely usual methods for creating surface texture. Learn the techniques then combine to form small quilt/hanging or create individual panels. Ingeniously devious yet essentially simple designs - most excellent for incorporation in all forms of creative quilting and other sewn projects. Twiddle and tweak, embellish and embroider – this is a great class for all sewaholics – you will be come a creatively textural artiste!! (You don't have to do it all!)

Bags Galore

Bags Galore

Easy ways to create simple bags from shopping to hand, embellished to plain, Scrip to Sling and Origami to original – indeed all sorts of bags for many different occasions. Every student will produce make three basic bag techniques plus one or two more from a range of delectable designs and patterns. A must for all bag-bods - t’is fast, fun and Oh sew simple!!  

Workshop starts with three easy techniques for constructing bags then students have a chance to choose which of the other bags they wish to make. (Photo of bags above)

Totally Tucked!

Experiment, embellish, embroider and enhance a multitude of twiddled tucked designs. Play with appliqued threads and creative decoration, explore shapes, patterns and structures from 'Honeycomb' to 'Twice Tucked and Twisted'. Amazingly simple yet so so sew effective! Easy to assemble - no awkward templates - just Jennie's specially simple novel piecing technique. Creativity rules OK - play with the shapes, experiment with colour, embellish with beads and embroidery, tuck in an insert or two and Hey Presto! a delightfully delectable hanging/cushion/quilt block approx 28" (70 cm) square. Take one large square and one large circle and Jennie's specially simple construction technique to create this most unusual and ingenious design. Simple to piece - just straight seams. Manipulate, embellish and embroider, add some decorative machine quilting to complete an 18/20" bordered panel. (Pattern available)
